Felis catus sketchus

Plumerialicious!
Here we have another picture of a cat!

Meow meow.

I would like a new cover for my iPod; my previous one is losing its stickiness. I found these online, which are so very cute but apparently not available for sale and/or cost a lot. Anyone know how to sew so they can teach me and I can make my own?

Feeling so, so unartistic lately. How I long to pick up a paintbrush! But I don't have any ideas. I realized that I haven't posted to my art blog in months, so I did put the tiniest of doodles on there. Go check out the best drawing I, or maybe anyone in the history of time, has ever made!

A way out of an art rut?

For some reason I'm addicted to playing this game at the moment. It's telephone, but instead of whispering a phrase, you either draw a picture based on a description or describe a picture that someone else drew. Wacky mouse drawings ahoy! Broken Picture Telephone Game

This weekend sure went fast, I guess because I only got one day off. Thank you again kitsumi for my bilby picture, you're the best! <3

More Song Doodles

Here are a few more pictures I did while listening to songs. I was only going to do 3 but another one started before I could pause. I didn't scan that one yet though. This time I used blue pencil, and they're even weirder than last time!

Prepare to be perplexed! )

Man it's been a while! I'm still on the Earth, not much news so no postings.

I continue my work on organizing my iPod songs. Sometimes I like to have the albums listed as the original album that the song was released on if it's from a "Greatest Hits" cd; that seems more "correct" to me somehow. Sometimes I'm lazy about it though.

I don't like when an album has the same name as the artist for some reason. I really get bothered when a song, album, and band all have the same name (I'm looking at you, The Good, the Bad & the Queen!)

I really should do some art but am blah about it. Maybe trying to illustrate some songs since I'm on this music kick?

I want a necklace with an owl on it. Or a tiger. But either a really cute one or a cool-looking one. That is all.

I got a new phone; my last one was about 3 years old. It's hard to figure out how to do stuff, but it has a camera (my first camera phone!) and it's an mp3 player and it's the color of a pretty green scarab beetle. I want a cute charm to put on it. Do people even have cell phone charms anymore?

I want to paint but as always I can't think of any subjects.

Inspired by the adorable fishy art of hirundo_rustica, I painted a coelacanth. Yes, I know his fins aren't scientifically accurate. But he's trained hard for this race along the bottom of the ocean.

Whoa, I did some art!

I can't remember actually attempting to use an underpainting before, so I tried it. I started with watered-down acrylic to establish the shadows and washed over it with watercolor. I need much improvement but it was a fun little exercise.

Here's Andrew Bird whistling after having played his violin. It's a dark picture because I turned off my flash to be nice. Look at that mysterious ghost orb on his right hand!
Happy
Happy Year of the Ox! And now another strange painting that has nothing to do with oxen or new years:

Big-headed bear alert!

There was a huge storm that woke me up last night with loud thunder and very bright flashes of lightning.

I got my Walton Ford calendar, yahoo! And I didn't pay 60-whatever dollars; take that, Internet! So many weird pictures, even a bearded vulture <3 <3.

Doodly New Year

It only took me 10 days to make a post this year. Yikes, it's been 2009 for over a week! Here are some things I put up at Blogger since I hadn't updated there in a while.

Two blue mammals and a purple bird.

There was a tiny yellow lovebird in the tree in the front yard the other morning. It flew away after a very close attempt at catching it in a butterfly net. Hope it finds its way home :(.

2008, where have you gone? Overall it's been a pretty good year for me. I wonder what's in store for 2009.

I got some cute arm warmers that do just what their name implies. Very toasty! I want some new slippers since mine are starting to leave little black pieces of rubber everywhere from the disintegrating treads. But I can't find any I like. Anyone know of any cute slipper stores online or in real life? I also need a new wall calendar and can't decide on what to get. The one I really wanted (http://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/wall_calendars/all/24684/facts.walton_ford_2009.htm) is out of print and selling for 60-something dollars on Amazon. Blah!

They shouldn't make pet penguin costumes be on sale because I will buy them and make Sally wear them.

Worms and Chickens

I think I have some possessed mealworms. They didn't have the usual kind I get for my toad, so I got "superworms". They're a lot bigger and scarier. One chewed a hole through the lid of their container and was stuck halfway through. It took pushing and pulling at the same time to get it out. Then one bit me, pretty hard for a bug too. I'm scared of them now.

Here is a painting that I finished yesterday. It's a Christmas present for my great-aunt, who collects everything roostery. Poultry is hard to draw! No other art done lately, blah.

I don't know why I can't get into computer art. I start and get almost instantly tired of it. I managed to paint a floofy snow monkey before giving up this time.

Pink and gray look nice together I guess.
